Hey Guys. It's me Dhruti again with a review on the Moroccan Argan Oil hair line by Organix. I have been using these products for a couple of weeks now and I have mixed feeling about them.
Before we go into the details I just want to give you an overview on my hair type. I have VERY curly, thin hair that flatiron on a regular basis. I do not wash my hair everyday and wash it around twice a week. My hair is very frizzy and dry. This review will be most relevant for people with a similar hair type but should be useful for everyone.
This is the Moroccan Argan Oil range by Organix minus the normal conditioner which I finished. It includes a shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, and a penetrating oil. First off the smell of all three of these products is AMAZING!
This is the shampoo of the range. I personally found the shampoo to be very drying and refining. It would be better to use this shampoo every other time when washing your hair so it doesn't strip the hair of its natural oils. The reason why the shampoo drys hair might be because of the ingredients list. Water is the shampoos main ingredient which is great but the next six ingredients are unpronounceable sulfates and alcohols that will dry your hair and strip its natural oils. Only then do you see the oils, which include aragan, cocoa butter, coconut, avocado and aloe, come in to play. These are once again followed by alcohols and sulfates. The use of so many sulfates turns me against this product because sulfates tend to weigh down and damage hair and alcohols dry out hair. The presence of so many sulfates and alcohols seems to counter the positive effects of the oils.
This is the conditioner for the line. I found this conditioner to be fairly thin and not very hydrating by itself. I feel that since the shampoo is stripping away so much oil the conditioner should have been more hydrating. I found myself using extremely large amounts of the conditioner to compensate and finished up the bottle in like four uses.
This is the intense moisturizing treatment in the line. I used this after the normal conditioner to re hydrate the scalp. I left it on for 6-8 minutes like it adviced and covered my hair with a shower cap and warm wet towel as the bottle adviced. I honestly really liked this product. It seemed to reintroduce my hair to the moisture that the shampoo stripped away. Overall I would repurchase this product.
The final step to the line is the penetrating oil and I LOVED this product so much! I feel that this is the only product in the entire line that does exactly what is claims. I apply this product on my damp hair after washing it and let my hair air dry. My hair is so soft afterwards it feels amazing. I also have noticed that once I started using this product my hair is straightening a lot faster and feeling a lot smoother.
Overall this line seems to be hit and miss. I will not repurchase the shampoo and conditioner but will most likely repurchase the intense moisturizing treatment. The penetrating oil is a definite repurchase and has become a staple in my hair care routine.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!!
